Artist's Statement For me, painting is about falling in love with the subject, absorbing the colors, the shapes, the way the light falls, and then being able to share that experience with others. Every painting has it's own challenges and that is part of the fun. Each has its own set of questions that beg to be answered and that is what I love to do....transcribe some scene, figures, or objects, in a unique way, in paint, for others to enjoy. My background is this: Inspired by the surroundings of beautiful farmland while growing up in rural Ohio, surrounded by fine antiques and a local appreciation for fine art and artisans, I always knew I wanted to become a painter, to convey the beauty around us.
